About the Project
Sex-trafficking is a multi-billion dollar industry that exploits millions of young girls around the world, and survivors often suffer from physical and psychological trauma. Rescue is Not Enough follows a girl who has recently been rescued from trafficking as she is welcomed into Transitions’ aftercare and makes her way through the program. Please note: An actress portrays the survivor in this film in order to protect the identities of actual trafficking victims.
Transitions Global works in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to provide comprehensive restorative aftercare for girls rescued from sex trafficking. Transitions approaches the care of trauma victims with the mentality that while the journey to recovery begins with physical freedom, true freedom from past exploitation requires emotional healing as well as genuine hope for a better future. As such, every girl at Transitions receives individual therapeutic care and is provided with opportunities for her future.
Transitions Global founder, James Pond, often speaks at large conferences and forums on human trafficking. Rescue is Not Enough provides him and the organization with a tool to visually and concisely show the value in the Transitions’ holistic approach to aftercare. In addition, Transitions will be able to use this film as they continue to fundraise, and as they advocate the growth of effective aftercare programs around the world.
